North Branford Police Bust Underage Drinkers

NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. -- Police in North Branford took advantage of a new state law that lets them go onto private property to find underage drinkers.Before Oct. 1, Connecticut had no law against people under 21 drinking on private property. Now, police can go right in.The owner of 172 Notch Hill Road, Caroline Pethick, was charged with an infraction of failure to halt possession of alcohol by minors after police entered her property.
North Branford police said they heard about the party and broke it up Saturday night, issuing 11 citations.North Branford High School is keeping seven of the students away from extracurricular activities this homecoming weekend..For the latest news, stay tuned to NBC 30 Connecticut News and NBC30.com
