Two people were arrested in connection with two sexual assaults that took place Sunday.Police said two teenage females called police and reported that they had been sexually assaulted after meeting with men they had met on MySpace.com.Police said the 16- and 17-year-old girls chatted with the men for a few weeks online before agreeing to meet them Sunday evening at a friend's home near Lighthouse Road.
Juan Carlos Coello, 19, was charged with aggravated sexual assault, carrying a dangerous weapon, threatening in the second degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree.Julio Guambana, 18, was charged with sexual assault in the first degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree. Both were detained by police and released on bond.Police said this is just another example that reinforces the danger of meeting people on the Internet."Personally, I would say don’t meet anybody at all that you meet on the Internet. But if you’re going to meet somebody, do it in a public place where there’s a lot of people around. Use your own safety. Use your own judgment," Lt. Peter Reichard, New Haven police, said.
