NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- A New Haven chiropractor is due in court Thursday, accused of harassing a stroke victim.

Steve Piserchia has been charged with harassment in connection with a series of bizarre phone calls to a Wethersfield woman.

Police said he admits to making the calls, which he called childish.

The woman is the founder of a chiropractic stroke awareness group.

Fifteen years ago, she had a stroke after getting her neck adjusted.

She told NBC30 the calls were retaliation for her attempts to bring awareness to the problem.
