UPDATED: 1:21 pm EDT May 8, 2008

A 7-year-old child fell out of a bus window Tuesday and the bus kept going, police said.

The boy was sitting on the back of a seat, opened the emergency window with his feet and fell out the window, police said. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, police said.

The bus was traveling on Waterville Road, south of Cider Brook Road in Avon just after 3:30 p.m. when the child fell, police said. The bus continued going a short distance until alarms went off and the driver stopped, police said.
