CHESHIRE, Conn. -- Some Canada geese are getting a reprieve after an outpouring of support from the community. The town of Cheshire was trying to get rid of geese at Mixville Recreational area for years, using non-lethal means. After those attempts failed, the town came up with a plan to kill as many as 15 of the geese.
That plan prompted residents to send letters and e-mails to town officials. The town has since decided to give non-lethal methods another try.
