SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Golf has always been a sport that has required practice, but a new club could change the sport forever.
The Swingless Golf Club may not be PGA or LPGA approved, but it could be the next big golfing fad.The club operates by using a firing pin and "a plastic strip of five small powder charges, called a Power Strip. Energy from the charge drives the striker in the club head forward to hit the ball," according to the product's Web site. The range on the club can be adjusted from 20 to 200 yards and adjust for fades and draws."It's designed for people that can't play regular golf. They don't have the swing ability. So many people have bad backs. Most people don't have the time," said Swingless Golf spokesperson Cameron Lozada. While some golfers at Sacramento's Haggin Oaks Golf Course said the club helped hit "the best shot I've ever done," not everyone was sold."Why play golf? It's not supposed to be easy," said golfer Joe Devlin."You've got your avid golfers. They're not going to change, maybe when they're in their golden years they'll look at a Swingless Golf Club, but we're looking at the spouses of avid golfers or people who have never played but would like to go out and enjoy the experience," Lozada said. There are some applications for people with physical limitations, and the clubs sells for $795.For more information on the Swingless Club, click here.
