Teenagers fall into the highest risk group of anyone for getting into a car accident, now, there's technology available that allows parents to monitor their teen's driving, even when they're not in the car.

A Granby 17-year-old put a car black box to the test.

Chelsie Hayes is spending the summer working at a restaurant to save money for college.

Now that she has her license, she doesn't need to count on mom to drive her around.

Chelsie's mom, Shannon, puts a lot of trust in her daughter, but she can't help but worry.

The R-S 1000 on-board computer monitors a teen's driving and beeps when they make an error. All of the information can then be downloaded onto a computer.

NBC 30 installed it in the van Chelsie drives. The device was left in her car for one week.

The black box recorded everything including her speed and turns.
