After hearing complaints about heating, plumbing, and price gouging from several residents of public housing in Hartford, Mayor Pedro Segarra has reached out to all Section 8 landlords in the city to remind them about their responsibilities to the tenants.
"As a community organizer, attorney and now mayor, when complaints like these come to my attention, I do not hesitate to take swift and strong action," Segarra said in a statement on Wednesday.
Public housing residents who feel they have been unfairly targeted should called the mayor's office of Constituent Services, the Connecticut Fair Housing Center or Hartford's 311 Call Center for help resolving housing issues.
